AI-on-Demand at EBDVF 2025: three days connecting Europe’s AI community

Three days, 470 participants, 53 partners and sponsors, more than 180 speakers, 8 plenary sessions, 35 parallel sessions, 24 booths – and AI-on-Demand (AIoD) was one of them.

From 12 to 14 November in Copenhagen (Denmark), AI-on-Demand had a strong presence at the European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF), organised by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA). The event brought together industry professionals, business developers, researchers, and policymakers from across Europe and beyond to advance policy action and industrial and research activities in data and AI.

For AIoD, it was three days of showcasing the latest developments of the platform, welcoming new members into an already large and growing community, and demonstrating the added value of being part of a collaborative European AI ecosystem.

A booth focused on practical value, and over 40 new registrations

Throughout the event, AI-on-Demand hosted a booth designed with a simple promise: visitors should leave with something useful. Over the three days, more than 40 participants registered on the platform, discovered new tools and services, and received hands-on guidance tailored to their needs.

At the booth, the team offered:

  • 10-minute live demos, tailored to each visitor. Participants shared their use cases and were guided towards relevant tools, datasets, services, and tutorials available on AIoD.
  • Concierge onboarding. New and existing users received support to create or optimise their AIoD profile and learned how to publish assets so they can be easily found and reused by others.
  • Mini-games and prizes. Light-hearted challenges and surprise giveaways helped break the ice and kept the booth busy throughout the event.
  • An “ask-us-anything” bar. Questions on compliance, open science, interoperability, and more were addressed on the spot, with signposting to the right experts and resources.
  • Partner matching. Visitors looking for collaborators, mentors, or complementary expertise were introduced to projects and organisations already active on AIoD.

Many participants did not simply pass by the booth – they stayed, asked questions, tested the platform, and left with a clearer idea of how AI-on-Demand can support their work. Those who registered were also offered an AIoD goodie pack as a thank you for joining the community.

A session on the future of AI innovation in Europe

On 13 November, from 12:00 to 13:00, AI-on-Demand hosted a dedicated session titled “AI-on-Demand: Your One-Stop Shop for AI Innovation in Europe”, within the “New trends” track. The aim was to provide a clear and transparent picture of AIoD as a key enabler for the future of trustworthy AI innovation in Europe, from research outputs to real-world adoption.

Participants were offered:

  • The big picture: how AIoD accelerates trustworthy AI, bridging the gap between research and industry.
  • Two live platform demos: showcasing both research-oriented and industry-oriented journeys on AIoD, which attendees could later replicate themselves.
  • A clear path to join the community: practical guidance on how to register, publish assets, and start benefiting from the platform straight away.

The session followed this flow:

  • 12:00–12:05Catalysing the European AI ecosystem – A strategic vision for a unified platform, with Long Pham
  • 12:05–12:15AIoD Platform dialogue: Research and Industry, with Susanne Kuehrer (AI4Europe) and Jarmo Eskelinen
  • 12:15–12:30 — Live demo on the AIoD platform with Ville Tenhunen, plus the Robotics Compass use case with Joana Martinheira
  • 12:30–12:45 — Live demo on the AIoD platform with Shahrzad Pour, plus the Power 2X bidding platform use case with Konstantin Filonenko
  • 12:45–12:55Time to register and join our community, with Ville Tenhunen
  • 12:55–13:00The AI Collaborative Ecosystem, with Savvas Rogotis (BDVA)

The session was particularly relevant for:

  • SMEs and industry are in need of ready-to-use resources and faster routes to compliance.
  • Researchers who want their outputs to be discovered, cited, and reused;
  • Public sector and policymakers are looking for practical, open, and trustworthy AI options.

For these audiences, it was an opportunity to see concretely what the platform offers, how it fits into their daily work, and how they can contribute to (and benefit from) a shared European AI infrastructure.

If you met us at EBDVF and have not yet explored the platform further, now is the perfect time to log in, complete your profile, and start publishing or reusing assets. And if you missed us in Copenhagen, AI-on-Demand will keep building this community online – and at future events across Europe.
