Use Case:

Development and validation of an AI-powered multisensory solution for at-home.

Outcome:

Feasibility of personalized AI models confirmed with TRL 5 reached; Multimodal data approach integrating home- and body-based sensing; Business and ethical frameworks developed and validated; Technology acceptance and AI model performance targets defined (>80% recall, >75% acceptability); Operational planning in place for AI integration and compliance.

Ecosystem Support:

Infrastructure support for AWS-based development; agile workshops for business modeling.

AI Relevance:

The project demonstrates AI democratization via: (i) user-centric model design; (ii) integration of multisensory IoT data; (iii) lightweight, ethical AI deployment in domestic settings; and (iv) transparent, explainable AI supporting decision-making without full automation.

Summary:

BLUE Connecting Emotions SL, a Spanish SME working at the intersection of emotion-aware computing and health monitoring, successfully completed a pilot phase for developing AI-driven non-invasive health applications. By engaging directly with end users through focus groups and employing a multisensory data acquisition strategy—combining wearable sensors and smart home devices—the company designed a personalized monitoring platform targeting improved chronic care outcomes. The AI system supports, rather than automates, decision-making, ensuring ethical compliance and transparency. Throughout the project, BLUE followed a rigorous feasibility assessment that incorporated legal, regulatory, and technological readiness factors, while establishing benchmark goals for model accuracy and acceptance. A robust business model canvas was developed via agile collaboration, targeting both B2B and B2C segments. The company has now laid the groundwork for scaling the solution, including plans to onboard AI expertise, expand HPC infrastructure, and conduct in-depth ethical alignment activities. This success story illustrates how AI can be responsibly and effectively deployed to enhance healthcare in everyday environments.
