AI4EU Cafe: An European Union regulatory approach to Artificial Intelligence.

The benefits from the implementation of Artificial Intelligence systems for citizens are clear. However, European Union policy makers seem to be conscious about the rights arising from the use in terms of both safety and human rights. In this context, many legislative and business initiatives are taking place, which are aimed at shaping the future of, inter alia, technology. As part of an ambitious European Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, the European Commission has published the proposal for a Regulation on a European approach for Artificial Intelligence , where Artificial Intelligence is not conceived as an end in itself, but as a tool to serve people with the ultimate aim of increasing human well-being. This session shall be devoted to provide some insight on this proposal and other regulatory trends having a paramount impact on the development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence.
