New York city council's local law 144 requires employers and agencies working on their behalf to have bias audits in place by 15 April 2023.

The requirement applies to any automated tools used to aid or automate employment decisions. This includes systems based on machine learning, statistical modelling or data analytics and typically includes resume screening, AI video interviews, and game-based or psychometric assessments.
