AIoD Platform at ADRF25: Uniting Forces to Serve the EU AI Ecosystem

The AI-on-Demand Platform (AIoD) presented itself as a holistic online space, the Hub for AI in Europe, servicing diverse demands and users of the European AI ecosystem at the ADRF25 in Stavanger, Norway, on September 23-24, 2025.

This marked the first time the Platform’s two gateways joined forces to engage with nearly 400 attendees on-site, from European AI, data, and robotics communities. The AIoD’s two gateways serve Research & Innovation, where tools and services aim to advance science and share results across Europe, and the Industry & Public Sector, where the focus is on accelerating AI adoption with trusted, research-based tools.

In the Research & Innovation gateway, users —typically academic and industry researchers — can access open-access models, curated datasets, and tools to support research and and accelerate the transfer to real-world use.

In the Industry & Public Sector gateway, users — typically AI solution developers and adopters across various domains — can find innovative bridges and tangible impacts, offering market-ready solutions, computing resources, and a dynamic marketplace.

At the ADRF25, the AIoD Platform had a booth, where most of the one-on-one engagement took place with demonstrations of services, tools & AI resources, and assets available for attendees.

The AI-on-Demand Platform: Your AI launchpad in Europe

In a separate session, AIoD showcased its functions, benefits, visibilities and exposures for potential users, including AI professionals, organisations, projects, institutes, SMEs, corporations and others. The session was opened by Dr Cécile Huet, Head of Unit Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, AI Office, European Commission, who emphasized AIoD’s importance as the platform for European projects, research and innovation, industry and the public sector to to advance EU AI progress. The session also featured a presentation from a new user Christian Gilcher, Founder & CEO of EmbraceableAI, sharing his vision for using the Platform to increase his company’s visibility and growth.

The session also featured two demonstrations on accessing open AI resources, registration processes, live services, and tools for the research and innovation community members by Dr Long Pham from AI4Europe project, and for industry and public sector users by Susanne Kuehrer from DeployAI project.

The AIoD also participated in a workshop hosted by the Ecosystem Mapping and Information Repository Working Group of ADRA. The workshop featured a live demonstration of the EU AI Ecosystem as a valuable and reliable tool for EU AI research and innovation communities to showcase their AI expertise and research focus across Europe. The dynamic and map-based visualisation application is integrated with the AIoD gateway for Research and Innovation. The AI Business Navigator, part of the AIoD gateway for industry and the public sector, was introduced as a guidance and matchmaking tool within the platform, helping companies—especially SMEs—navigate the complex AI ecosystem, identify suitable solutions, and connect with the right partners.

AI Business Navigator starts as a (1) knowledge and orientation tool, grows into a (2) matchmaker between supply and demand, and matures into a (3) personalized, data-driven guide that strengthens Europe’s AI ecosystem. Dr Heli Harrikari from DeployAI said the tool was developed with “user first” mindset and provide actionable insights, trusted tools, and ethical frameworks, thus businesses can drive innovation, confidently adapt to change, and lead in shaping the future of AI.

The ADRF25 audience’s interest was also sparked in a five-minute pitch at the EXPO Hall during lunch time on the forum’s first day. The pitch provided insights for interested attendees to visit the booth for face-to-face engagements and to attend the session and the workshop that AIoD presented.

This was the first time AIoD’s two gateways brought together the key aspects and tools that form the Hub for AI in Europe to the ADRF25 audience, giving them opportunities to experience live services and tools, but also envision what’s possible for the whole EU AI ecosystem to unite AI research, industry, and public sector through a through a single platform — enabling collaboration, shared innovation, trusted tools, and pan-European visibility.

Similar efforts to introduce the AIoD to diverse communities will continue in the coming weeks at many European-wide AI, data, robotics and digital transformation events. The AIoD Platform is ready for you to explore, contribute and utilise for your own AI advancement and for the progress of the broader EU AI ecosystem.
