AIoD and RAISE Shaping Europe’s AI-for-Science Future
Great energy and forward momentum at AI and Science Summit 2025 (AIS25) in Copenhagen!
We were proud to present the AI-on-Demand (AIoD) Platform as a key building block in Europe’s emerging AI-for-Science ecosystem.
Our poster and demo showed how AIoD is evolving into a European Open Science Commons for AI, a federated, interoperable environment where researchers can seamlessly discover, access, reuse, and build AI resources across disciplines. From unified metadata and discovery tools to workflow environments, AIoD is already addressing the fragmentation challenges highlighted across the scientific community.
The launch of the European Commission’s RAISE initiative added excitement and ambition to the event. Discussions underlined a shared belief that Europe can lead globally in AI-powered science, while also acknowledging the need for greater scale, agility, and clearer governance to fully realise that vision. The atmosphere reflected both optimism and constructive critique: a community ready to move fast, responsibly, and together.
This is where AIoD has a strong role to play. By providing concrete, operational tools and a sustainable, commons-based approach, AIoD complements RAISE’s strategic goals and helps turn high-level ambition into practical capability. It offers the foundations Europe needs: openness, interoperability, reproducibility, and cross-border collaboration.
Together, RAISE and AIoD point toward a more cohesive, open, and collaborative future for AI-driven science, empowering researchers, strengthening communities, and reinforcing Europe’s position in global AI innovation.
